Happy New Year

Em,Levi, and Jake. 12/2010

Once again this time of year has caught me by surprise and I find projects all over that I had every intention of getting done..... but I guess you do what you can.
This was a great year for the Greens! We had so many exciting things happening in our family. We feel very blessed this holiday season and hope that the real joys of Christmas fill your hearts and homes in the coming weeks.

Will, after many years of hard work graduated from Boise State in the spring with a degree in Business Economics. Shortly after that the owner of Best Bath approached him and offered him a promotion. He is now the production floor manager and is really enjoying his new duties. He had been with Best Bath for a little over 5 years at the time and was happy to be able to move up in the company. The position came a salaried raise, and with the current economy having many recent graduates without any work we feel very lucky that his hard work has paid off and benefited our family so much. As for free time Will was able to go hunting a few times and came home with a deer this year. We are hoping with no more school we will be able to spend more time next year in the mountains enjoying the great state of Idaho.

I was not able to get as much done this year as I would of liked. Since I was having the baby in June we decided to forgo the garden and just plant a few tomato and pepper plants. I still did can peaches, applesauce, salsa, chicken stock and soup, and made a variety of jams. I am looking forward to this year and being able to get back into the swing of things. I have many plans for the yard that I cant wait to start on!
After having the baby I started having gallbladder attacks and ended up having surgery again just 6 weeks after Levi was born. All is well now and I am happy to be feeling normal again.

Emilee started school this year. I cant believe how grown up she has become. She is loving her teacher, Mrs. Cochell and learning many new things. She has made lots of new friends and really enjoys the art emphasis at Christine Donnell . I have been able to volunteer on Fridays and have had lots of fun going to visual arts class with her. I know I am learning new things about artists and their work. We are very glad that she was able to get into the school. On the home front she is a great helper with her brothers and with doing chores around the house. I feel very lucky to have such a great girl!

Jake is missing Emilee but he has really stepped up while she is at school and helps with the baby. We have found that he loves music and singing. We got a new Wii game, Disney Sing It, which he loves. He is amazing with all the things he knows. He loves playing PBSkids online and working with Mom and Emilee with numbers and letters. He will miss the cutoff for school next year and will be home with me for another year but then after that.... look out world!

Levi has grown so much in the last 6 months. I had forgotten how much they change in such a short time. He is a wonderful baby, sleeps great(8hours), eats about every 4 hours during the day and overall happy! He loves Emilee and Jake and could play with them for hours. We love this little boy and are so glad to have him in our family.

We hope that you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Halloween

busy, busy weekend! First we had a trunk or treat with the kids on Saturday. They had a great time and were so cute! My mom did the costumes again and did a great job! Jake really wanted to be a hunter but try as he did he couldn't convince Emilee to be his deer. They ended up deciding on Cowboy and Cowgirl. I am going to be sad when they don't want to dress up together anymore!

Sunday we started out with Levis blessing. With my recovery from my c-section and then surgery it took us a couple months. But we found a date and were able to do it and have a lot of the family be there. Gma Hopkins, Mom and Dad Green, Mom and Dad Shipley, Joe (Fox was sick and Becky and Cache stayed home with him.) Val and Perry, Ruby and Claire, Daniel, and Keith and Audra, Henry, Adeline, and Lora were all able to make it and then we had dinner afterwards at our house.

I was bummed it was raining when we left for church and we were only able to get a picture inside.

After the dinner the kids got back in the costumes and we headed to Gma Anita and Gpa Dans house. The kids trick or treated the neighborhood.

Levi dressed up in Emilee's Dalmatian Costume

He didnt really care about Halloween he just liked going for a walk in the carrier.

After the sugar high..... gotta love halloween!

Jakes Birthday Party

We had Jakes birthday party last weekend. He was super excited to have a Handy Manny birthday cake and that the girls were able to make it for the party.

He got his shirt all muddy and so we took it off and he didn't want to put one back on. I figured that since he was getting some shirts for his birthday we would convince him to put on one of his new ones. just in case someone wonders why he is dressed all the sudden.

Cant believe he is 4!

Happy Birthday Jakers!

Tomorrow Jake will be four. The last year has been great watching him grow and become a big brother. He is always quick to respond to Levi and can usually make him smile. He is a wonderful son and we are lucky that Heavenly Father blessed us with his sweet spirit!

Four things about Jake:
1. He loves Green Beans and is so excited to have Spaghetti, Meatballs, and Green Beans for dinner tomorrow.
2. He is a big help with Levi now that Emilee is in school and plays with him so I can get stuff done in the mornings.
3. He loves tools and fixing things. I have had to screw stuff back into the wall that he has taken off to "fix".
4. He cant wait to be big enough to go hunting with Dad. He wanted to be a hunter for Halloween this year but could not convince Emilee to go as his deer.

Happy Birthday Jake! We love you!

Little Levi

Levi is growing so fast! He goes to the Doctor for his 4 month check at the end of the month and I will post stats when I get them. He is such a great baby! He sleeps from around 10-11ish every nite til around 8 when we wake up to start getting Em ready for school. He is so happy and content too. He does have teeth coming in and is starting to get a little cranky in the evenings but with him being so good thru the day, I am not to worried about it. He is rolling over both ways and loves to find new and exciting ways to sleep!

Love this kid!

Western Idaho Fair

This year we followed thru with our tradition of going to the fair as a farewell to summer. This year was great though knowing that it didnt mean that Will was going back to school, just Emmy.
We picked an evening and took Daniel with us. The kids and I wandered thru all the animals and veggies and crafts while Will and Dan did rides.

I love this one!

The kids really enjoyed the tent with all the information on Idaho Farmers and Ranchers.

After wandering for a while we met back up with Will to check out the petting area.

After the petting zoo the kids went on a few rides to finish out the evening.

I couldnt believe that Jake went on this ride alone. Brave Boy!

Nite Glo

Saturday night the Boise Balloon Classic had a nite glo. I remember going to them when the Boise River Festival was still around and hanging out with Mike and Paula and Shelli and watching the balloons. I thought the kids would really like it so we packed a picnic and headed to the park.

We got up at 5 that morning to make it to the launch and Jake crashed in the car and that was it for him.

Starting to set up the balloons
