Yet again I find myself trying to catch up with this blog of mine. Our summer has been so busy. We have been running from one thing to the next and loving every minute of it.
To start out Will and Jake have been working on a project together. Dad gave them a remote control airplane and they spend several evenings putting it together. They then were in the process of learning to fly it.
Our first flight we went to the park with Grandpa Allen and Grandma Maryann.
Levi's attention in the plane didnt last too long.
Next time around we took Grandpa Dan and Grandma Anita.
We got it airborne til it started for the trees and Will made a fast landing.
It is now out of commission while waiting to be fixed......
Our whole month of July was spent with Wills family. Dani and Dusty got married so Will and I and Val and Perry headed to Pokey and then on to Salt Lake with Dusty, Dani, Sam, and Tricha for a weekend. We spend a day in Lagoon and then attended their sealing in the Bountiful Temple. It was a great experience and we were very glad to be a part of it.
Love these girls!
On the way to the temple!
The next weekend they had their reception in Boise. Val and I made the cake so we were baking away. It turned out beautiful!
And Claire and Cache thought it was great!
Green Clan- July 2011
We were glad to have more time with the Greens, including Al and Ken who came up from New Mexico.
Will and I often talk about how blessed we are that our family has grown to include Dani and now Dusty. They are wonderful examples to our kids and I know that all three of them are crazy about Aunt Dani and Uncle Dusty!
This summer we also went out to Emmett to see Joe and Becky and go to the Emmett Cruize night. The kids had a blast playing with their cousins and seeing all the cool cars!
Love this face. Claire thought it was great having someone take lots of pictures of her. She made funny faces at me for quite a while.
Fox took Aunt Tricha for a ride!
We finished up the night with Smores and a movie on the ride home. The kids had a great time!
As our summer is closing we are facing lots of new things for our family. As of last week I am a full time student at Boise State. It is quite different having me out of the house 2 days a week. Tomorrow will be Ems first day at school (for the whole day) which is going to be another big change. Jake will also be going to a co-op preschool on Mondays and Wednesdays starting in a couple weeks, so our family is going to be going all directions..... but we have had a great time just spending time together this summer.
Since it has been such a long time since I have updated I will give you a glimpse at the last few months at the Green house.
One of the weekends this winter we spent with Val and Perry, and Joe and Becky at the cabin. The kids had a blast playing in all of the snow and we were very grateful to have the pathfinder with the 4 wheel drive.
This year for Ems 6th birthday she wanted a cake shaped like a present. She loved it and was really excited about her real presents including the baseball bat and ball from Aunt Dani and Uncle Dusty!
Shortly after Emilees birthday we started working on some home improvement projects. We tore out our white carpet and kitchen flooring and replaced them with darker carpet and vinyl flooring. I love it. Since we had the flooring out we also did some painting and Will and Em worked under the house repairing some of the ducts. We also mounted our TV on the wall which really opened up the living room. (I will have to take some pics of the finished product to get on here)
So many more things that we would like to do.... but one thing at a time. We also got in a good sized garden this year with tomatoes, peppers, onions, lettuce, radishes, garlic, green beans, corn, jalapeños, squash, cucumbers, pumpkins, melons.... to name a few.
In April our little man started walking. For a while he would just stand up in the middle of the room but shortly after that he started with taking steps and has not stopped. There is no place that he will not venture too.
(video to come, tech difficulties!)
Will also ran Race to Robie Creek in April. This year he was joined by Dani and Dusty.
As part of Em going to a Art Magnet School she was able to be in a visual arts class taught by Mrs. Swenson. They did lots of different projects including dance, painting, sculpting, and studying art. I volunteered on Fridays and had lots of fun getting to go with her. At the end of the year they did a informal dance performance showing the parents all that they had learned with movement. (sorry some of the pictures are blurry, having a hard time taking good pictures with my video camera.)
At the end they pulled guests out of the audience to dance with them and Em came and got Jake. She had a great time in Kindergarten and is looking very much forward to 1st grade.
Will and I celebrated out 7th anniversary this year. We spent the evening at the Mona Lisa. Which was delish as usual! Then on Saturday we headed off to Horseshoe Bend and Zip Idaho. It was a blast once I decided that I was not going to die. I did make sure that our wills and life insurance policies were accessible just in case! It was a great time though, something I look forward to doing again.
Getting to our last big event til now, Levi is ONE! Where did the time go?! He has gotten so big and has so much fun with his big brother and sister. We had a birthday party for him and he had a blast playing with new toys and eating lots of cake!
Will and I have been married over five years. We have three beautiful kids. Emmy Jo, our princess. Jakers, our little monkey, and Levi, our new baby boy. Even though it is not always easy we are enjoying the journey!
